Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peach preserves or pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk together 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter, 1 cup of milk, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in another bowl.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fill each donut with 1 cup of peach preserves using a piping bag.
  6. Fry the donuts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Cool the donuts on a wire rack for a few minutes.
  8. Mix 8 oz of softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon until smooth.
