Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat until it melts and turns amber in color.
  2. Add the butter and stir until melted.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in sea salt and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. In another bowl, combine brown sugar and milk, then add to the dry ingredients.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and drizzle with salted caramel sauce.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Let cool before serving, drizzling more caramel on top if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
