Description
A creamy and spicy dip featuring roasted jalapeños and sharp cheddar, perfect for gatherings and versatile enough for various pairings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 fresh jalapeños
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3 green onions (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Roast the jalapeños: Place jalapeños on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven until charred on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Steam and peel: Transfer the jalapeños to a covered bowl for about 10 minutes. Peel off the skin, deseed (if desired), and finely chop.
- Whip the cream cheese: Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature. Whip it in a mixing bowl until it’s smooth and fluffy.
- Combine the ingredients: Add the chopped roasted jalapeños, shredded cheddar, chopped green onions, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the cream cheese. Mix thoroughly.
- Chill for flavor fusion: Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Shape and garnish: Shape the dip on a platter and garnish with additional jalapeño slices and chopped green onions.
- Serve with delight: Pair with crackers, crostini, vegetables, tacos, burgers, or bagels.
Notes
For a milder dip, replace jalapeños with poblano peppers or remove seeds. Make-ahead tips: store in an airtight container up to 5 days.
