Description

Golden and fluffy, Milk Brioche is a treat for the senses with its buttery fragrance and tender crumb, perfect for breakfast or as a delightful snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 60g sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 10g instant yeast
  • 5 large eggs
  • 250ml whole milk
  • 200g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the eggs and whole milk, stirring gently to form a sticky dough.
  3. Gradually incorporate the softened butter until the dough becomes smooth.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let it rise for another hour until puffed up.
  8. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) while the dough rises.
  9. Brush the top with egg wash before baking.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown, then cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added variety, consider mixing in chocolate chips or dried fruit. To make-ahead, refrigerate the dough overnight after the first rise.
