- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread lemon filling evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- For a stronger lemon flavor, add more lemon zest.
