Ingredients

- 2 cups warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Combine warm water, yeast, and honey in a mixing bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and flour; stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Punch down the risen dough, divide into 10-12 equal portions, and shape each into a bun.
- Arrange the shaped buns on a baking tray lined with parchment, cover, and let them rise for another 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the buns for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter immediately after baking and cover to maintain softness.
Notes
Experiment with spices or toppings for unique flavors. Store buns in a sealed container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
