A delightful pasta dish that pairs sweet honey with a spicy kick of red pepper flakes, wrapped in a creamy sauce with tender chicken and penne pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Penne Pasta: Start by boiling water in a large pot. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Brown the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and cooked through.
- Sauté Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes: Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute.
- Create the Sauce: Pour in the honey and chicken broth, stirring well. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Reduce heat and gently stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
- Combine with Pasta: Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet, tossing it with the sauce until well coated.
- Serve: Plate the dish and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot.
