Description
A thick frozen dairy shake with vanilla protein powder, chocolate sandwich cookies, and an optional cream cheese finish.
Yield: 1 large frosty or 2 smaller portions
Prep: 5–10 minutes
Cooking: None
Best served: Immediately
Ingredients
- ¾ cup low-fat cottage cheese
- ½ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 labeled serving vanilla protein powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar-free maple-flavored syrup, or sweetener to taste; start with less
- ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk, plus a little more only if needed
- ¾ cup ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon softened light cream cheese, optional
- 3 regular chocolate sandwich cookies, broken
- 1 additional regular chocolate sandwich cookie, crushed for topping
Instructions
- Blend cottage cheese, yogurt, measured milk, vanilla, and optional cream cheese until completely smooth, following the appliance’s loading instructions.
- Add protein powder and a small amount of sweetener. Blend briefly and scrape. Add extra milk only if needed for safe blade movement.
- Add ice and blend until smooth and thick, with no hard chunks. Stop the machine before scraping.
- Add the three broken cookies and pulse briefly, or fold chopped cookies in by hand for larger pieces.
- Taste and adjust sweetener. Divide into one large or two smaller servings and top with the additional cookie. Serve immediately.
Storage: Refrigerate covered up to 24 hours if necessary, expecting a thinner texture. Freeze up to 1 month for quality and reblend after softening safely; texture may change.
Estimated nutrition: Approximately 500–600 calories and 45–55 grams protein for the full recipe before optional cream cheese, counting all four cookies. Brands vary.
Texture note: A frosty is a thick frozen shake, not churned ice cream. Measure liquid carefully and add cookies after crushing the ice.
