Description
A flavorful and indulgent dip made with seasoned beef, creamy cheese, and zesty tomatoes, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- Chopped green onions
- Tortilla chips
Instructions
- Brown the meat: Start by placing the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Break the meat into small pieces and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Combine ingredients: Transfer the browned meat to your crockpot. Add the drained black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and taco seasoning. Stir well.
- Incorporate cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the slow cooker and stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Set it to cook: Cover your crockpot and set it to low for 4-6 hours, or high for 2-3 hours.
- Add the cheese: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in the shredded cheese until it melts completely.
- Serve warm: Once done, garnish with chopped green onions and serve alongside tortilla chips.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the meat and veggies ahead of time and store in the fridge. Can be cooked in an oven or air fryer if a crockpot isn’t available.
