Description
Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these Jalapeño Popper Egg Rolls are packed with heat and flavor, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- Egg roll wrappers
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2–3 jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for frying or cooking spray for air-frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, finely chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and well combined.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Place a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, tucking it in tightly. Next, fold the sides inward and roll tightly while maintaining the shape, ensuring a secure seal.
- For air frying: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C), spritz the egg rolls with cooking spray, and place them in the basket in a single layer. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
- For baking: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the egg rolls on a baking sheet without overcrowding, spray with cooking spray, and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy and golden.
- For deep frying: Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry each egg roll for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they achieve that irresistible golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Customize your filling with additional ingredients like bacon or green onions, and adjust spiciness based on jalapeños used.
