Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse

  • Author: Grace
  • Total Time: About 35–65 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup plain cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2–3 tablespoons powdered bulk sweetener or maple syrup, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Up to 1 tablespoon milk, added only as needed
  • 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips or shaved dark chocolate, optional, divided between servings
  • A few fresh raspberries, optional, for serving

Instructions

  • Blend cottage cheese until smooth, stopping to scrape as needed.
  • Add cocoa, vanilla, and part of the sweetener. Blend until evenly chocolatey.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness. Add milk one teaspoon at a time only if needed for blending, keeping the base thick.
  • Divide into two bowls, cover, and refrigerate 30–60 minutes.
  • Add optional toppings just before serving. Keep refrigerated.

Notes

  • This is a dense mousse-like dessert, not a whipped foam.
  • Powdered sweetener and maple syrup are not identical in sweetness, liquid content, or nutrition.
  • Milk may be unnecessary with some cottage cheese brands and blenders.
  • Exact calories and protein require calculation from actual labels.
  • Contains milk; toppings and substitute milks may introduce other allergens.
