- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Caramel sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the sliced apples with cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Lay out sheets of aluminum foil, each about 12 inches long, and place a portion of the apple mixture in the center of each sheet.
- Mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter in a medium bowl until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture generously over the apples nestled in the foil.
- Fold the foil over to create sealed packets, ensuring there are no openings for steam to escape.
- Place the packets on the grill or oven rack and cook for 20-25 minutes until the apples are tender and the filling is bubbling.
- Carefully open the foil packs, watch out for steam! Drizzle caramel sauce over the warm apples and serve immediately.
Notes
Consider broiling for an extra crunch during the last few minutes of cooking. You can substitute apples with pears for a unique twist.
