Description

Delicious and easy-to-make maple pecan pumpkin scones that are perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, milk, and egg.
  6. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut into wedges and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter scone, add more maple syrup.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • These scones can be frozen before baking for up to 2 months.
