Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each waffle.
- Place one waffle, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Add the cheese slices on top of the waffle.
- Cover with the second waffle, buttered side up.
- Cook until the bottom waffle is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from skillet, drizzle with maple syrup if desired, and top with fresh fruit.
