Savory Pistachio-Crusted Brie Bites

Description

Decadent Brie bites wrapped in flaky puff pastry, coated with crunchy pistachios and flavored with honey, lemon, and thyme.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) Wheel of Brie
  • 1 Sheet Frozen Puff Pastry
  • ¾ Cup Unsalted Pistachios, Finely Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Thyme Leaves, Minced
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper, to Taste
  • Egg Wash (1 Egg + 1 tbsp Water)

Instructions

  1. Cut the Brie into twelve 1½-inch cubes.
  2. Pat the Brie cubes dry with a paper towel.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to about ¼ inch thick.
  4. In a shallow bowl, combine pistachios, thyme, and sea salt.
  5. Cut the puff pastry into 4-inch squares and place a cube of Brie in the center of each square.
  6. Brush the edges with egg wash and add honey, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and pepper on top of the cheese.
  7. Fold corners of pastry over Brie and pinch to seal, then dip each package into the pistachio mixture.
  8. Place on a lined baking sheet, brush tops with egg wash, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 3-4 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the bites a day in advance; store in the fridge and bake before serving. Can substitute Brie with Camembert, goat cheese, or cheddar.
