- 2 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 pear, thinly sliced
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add the sliced onions.
- Cook the onions until they are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the onions are cooking, prepare the bread by spreading butter on one side of each slice.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the cheese, followed by the pear and apple slices, and then the caramelized onions.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
