  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup mint chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with grease or parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl until completely melted; let it cool slightly.
  3. Combine the granulated sugar with the melted butter until fully mixed.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until cohesive.
  5. Prepare the dry ingredients: sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Incorporate chocolate chips and peppermint extract into the batter.
  8. Even distribute the batter in the prepared baking pan; sprinkle optional mint chocolate chips on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

For added flavor, prepare the batter a day in advance and refrigerate overnight. These brownies can also be made in an air fryer.
