Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with grease or parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl until completely melted; let it cool slightly.
- Combine the granulated sugar with the melted butter until fully mixed.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until cohesive.
- Prepare the dry ingredients: sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Incorporate chocolate chips and peppermint extract into the batter.
- Even distribute the batter in the prepared baking pan; sprinkle optional mint chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
For added flavor, prepare the batter a day in advance and refrigerate overnight. These brownies can also be made in an air fryer.
