- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and cinnamon. Add the yeast mixture and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with maple syrup, then sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped pecans.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with additional maple syrup before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
- These rolls can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
- Serve warm for the best taste.
