- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip chicken wings in buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken wings in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a separate saucepan, combine gochujang, honey, and soy sauce over medium heat until well mixed.
- Once the chicken is cooked, toss it in the spicy sauce until well coated.
- In another saucepan, heat heavy cream and add shredded cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Serve the spicy chicken topped with cheese sauce and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
- Adjust the level of gochujang to control the spiciness.
- For extra crunch, double fry the chicken wings.
- Serve with pickled radish for a traditional touch.
