Description
A rich and creamy Indian dish made with marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato sauce, perfect for serving with rice or naan.

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Season with salt to taste and serve hot with rice or naan.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of chili powder.
- Can substitute chicken with paneer for a vegetarian option.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
