Description

Grilled Portobello Burgers are a delicious and satisfying meatless alternative, featuring marinated portobello mushrooms grilled to perfection and served on a bun with your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • Avocado slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Remove the stems from the portobello mushrooms and brush the marinade over both sides of the mushrooms.
  4. Let the mushrooms marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  5. Place the marinated mushrooms on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a grilled portobello mushroom on each bun and topping with spinach, tomato, onion, and avocado if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
