Description

A delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that combines the classic flavors of grilled cheese with eggs and bread, perfect for a hearty morning meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Layer 4 slices of bread in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the bread.
  5. Layer the remaining bread on top of the cheese.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread layers.
  8. Top with the remaining cheese.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Feel free to add cooked bacon or sausage for extra protein.
