- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Sprinkles (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and lightly grease or line your 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture gently until just incorporated.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bars completely before frosting.
- Make the frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla together until smooth.
- Frost the cooled bars and add sprinkles on top.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Customize your frosting by adding flavored extracts.
