Description

French Silk Brownies are a rich and decadent chocolate dessert that combines the fudgy texture of brownies with a creamy silk chocolate topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, flour, and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. While the brownies are baking, prepare the silk topping by melting the chocolate and heavy cream together in a double boiler or microwave.
  8. Once melted, let the chocolate mixture cool slightly before spreading it over the cooled brownies.
  9. Chill the brownies in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  10. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a stronger chocolate flavor, add instant coffee to the brownie batter.
  • Make sure the brownies are completely cooled before adding the silk topping.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
