Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup honey (or agave syrup for vegan)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut into even cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
  3. Toss the tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the crispy tofu and stir to coat evenly.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired. Serve immediately.
