Description

Delightful crunchy onion ring chips, coated in cheesy goodness, perfect for any gathering or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil (for frying or baking spray)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) if you choose to bake these delightful chips.
  2. Slice each onion into rings approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Prepare your dredging stations: In a bowl, mix flour with salt and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs, and in a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat each onion ring: Dip the rings first into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally roll them in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Arrange the coated rings on a baking sheet. If baking, sprinkle cheese generously over the tops.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy or fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add spices to your breadcrumbs or experiment with different cheeses.
