- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the dried cranberries and orange zest, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Whisk together the heavy cream and egg in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Knead the dough gently on a floured surface a few times until it comes together.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
- Place the wedges on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm with butter or clotted cream. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge overnight.
