Description

A delightful fusion of classic cinnamon rolls and focaccia, featuring rich butter, warm cinnamon, and a creamy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Whisk together flour and salt in a mixing bowl, then pour the yeast mixture and olive oil in, stirring until combined.
  3. Knead the mixture on a floured surface until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick, and spread softened butter over it.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls, about 1 inch thick.
  9. Set the rolls in a greased baking pan and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over the baked focaccia.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the dough the night before and let it rise in the fridge. For quicker options, consider using an air fryer.
