- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Whisk together flour and salt in a mixing bowl, then pour the yeast mixture and olive oil in, stirring until combined.
- Knead the mixture on a floured surface until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick, and spread softened butter over it.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls, about 1 inch thick.
- Set the rolls in a greased baking pan and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over the baked focaccia.
