- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Stir gently to blend the dry ingredients.
- Heat the milk and melted butter until warm (not boiling). Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients along with the egg.
- Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon to create your aromatic filling.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture all over.
- Cut the dough into strips approximately 1-2 inches wide. Twist each strip gently and place them on a lined baking sheet.
- Cover the twists and let them rise again for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once risen, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with milk until smooth to create a glaze. Drizzle this glaze over the warm twists as they cool slightly.

For an extra touch, add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling for a delightful crunch.
