Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sponge cake
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup custard
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the sponge cake into cubes.
  2. Layer half of the cake cubes in a large trifle dish.
  3. Drizzle half of the sherry or fruit juice over the cake.
  4. Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the cake.
  5. Spread half of the custard over the berries.
  6. Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Finish with a layer of whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, use fruit juice instead of sherry.
  • Feel free to customize the fruit based on seasonal availability.
