- 8 slices of bread, cubed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage or bacon, bell peppers, onions, and cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients, ensuring everything is well coated.
- Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the eggs are set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
