Description

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard.
  3. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage or bacon, bell peppers, onions, and cheese.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients, ensuring everything is well coated.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the eggs are set.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
