- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
- Chocolate shavings (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a jelly roll pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool slightly, then invert onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar.
- Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Unroll the cake, spread the whipped cream filling, and re-roll the cake.
- Frost the outside with remaining whipped cream and decorate with chocolate shavings.

- Ensure the cake is completely cool before unrolling to prevent cracking.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer flavor.
