- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup M&M’s (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the dry ingredients by whisking together the flour and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Incorporate the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Blend in the dry ingredients gradually.
- Add the chocolate chips and M&M’s, folding them gently into the dough.
- Scoop generous amounts of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill the dough before baking. Experiment with different chocolate types and add nuts for extra crunch.
