Description

Juicy spiced chicken koftas topped with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for gatherings and delightfully satisfying.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Knead until everything melds beautifully.
  2. With damp hands, take portions of the mixture and form oval-shaped koftas.
  3. Preheat the grill on medium-high heat. Brush the grates with olive oil.
  4. Grill the koftas for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
  6. Plate the koftas and serve alongside the garlic yogurt sauce for dipping.

Notes

Kofta mixture can be made a day in advance; refrigerate until ready to grill. Can also bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes or use an air fryer for a crispy texture.
