Deliciously flaky cruffins filled with gooey melted cheese and roasted garlic, perfect for brunch or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
  2. Create a well in the center and pour in the warm milk, melted butter, and warm water.
  3. Add the egg and mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Meanwhile, mix minced garlic, softened butter, and chopped parsley in a small bowl for the filling.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  8. Roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  9. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly across the dough.
  10. Sprinkle grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella on top.
  11. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 8-10 pieces.
  12. Place each slice upright in the muffin cups and cover to rise for an additional 20 minutes.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Cool slightly before removing from the tin and serve warm.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the dough a day in advance and refrigerate overnight. Adjust cooking times if using an air fryer.
