Description

A delicious and easy-to-make caramel-pear galette that combines sweet caramel with juicy pears, all wrapped in a flaky pastry crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 3 ripe pears, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and transfer it to a baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the sugar and stir until it turns golden brown.
  4. Add the sliced pears, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the caramel, cooking for a few minutes until the pears are slightly softened.
  5. Pour the caramel-pear mixture onto the center of the pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, pleating as necessary.
  7. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
  • Can substitute pears with apples if desired.
