Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb Andouille sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced Andouille sausage and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  6. Add the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  7. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  8. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until well combined.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your Cajun Mac Cheese!
