A deliciously glazed baked ham that combines the sweetness of maple syrup with the tanginess of Dijon mustard, perfect for any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 810 pounds)
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, ground cloves, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place the ham in a roasting pan and brush half of the glaze over the surface.
  5. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  6. Remove the foil and brush the remaining glaze over the ham.
  7. Continue baking uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, or until the ham is heated through and caramelized.
  8. Let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
  • Leftover ham can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.
