- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cups fresh tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions in the bacon grease until translucent.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked bacon, sautéed onions, sliced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and basil.
- Pour the mixture into the pie crust and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and use olive oil for sautéing the onions.
- Feel free to add other herbs like thyme or oregano for extra flavor.
