Description
Delightful cinnamon rolls filled with sweet apples and a hint of spice, topped with a creamy glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: Warm the milk gently until about 110°F (43°C), sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it stand for 5-10 minutes.
- Create the dough: Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Add softened butter, then pour in the warmed milk and yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling: Mix diced apples with brown sugar, additional cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Roll the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle and spread the apple mixture evenly over it. Roll it tightly into a log.
- Cut the log into 1-2 inch rolls and arrange them in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
